Who could forget that remarkable head of hair from The Ginger Bowl? All that moppy, curly lucious red hair! He’s back for private, after hours haircut at the barber shop. Last cut of the day, he’s given extra special attention to deail. After his big ‘ol mop is washed at the shampoo station, (while modeling a lovely purple cape), he is dried off and sat in the barber chair and turned away from the mirror.
The barber has a lot of fun playing with his hair – combing it neat and tight, and then messing it up with his hands, pulling it all sorts of ways. Sprayed down wet, this haircut starts with the scissors – cutting away bangs and sides – and large fistfulls of hair off the top. Whatever nervous feelings he was having about this haircut – it’s too late now to back out!
The barber expertly gives him a different kind of bowl cut, a nod and throwback to the first movie – where he got a rather humilating public bowl cut. Shaved underneath, on the sides – the top kind of sticks out like a red mushroom almost. It’s an intersting look, this “Bowlcut 2.0” – but it won’t last for long. In this transformative movie, the barber takes him out of the bowl cut, and gives him a more modern and handsome look. Switching between clippers and scissors, and a whole array of precision barbering technqiue – the end result is both drastic and flattering. This barber knows the details between a good haircut and a great haircut.
At over a half an hour, this movie does not rush you one bit in your enjoyment of the haircut. This movie does not dissapoint in capturing plenty of wide shots, up close shots, and mounds of hair piling up. (That’s in the title!) An exciting watch start to finish, for all aspects of mens hair and hair cutting.
