This is Micah, a freshman student at the local university in town. who’s into haircuts. They usually wear their hair in a more “anything goes” kind of fashion, as you can see in the start of this movie. A mixture of brown, blue, blonde and orange – doing it’s own thing. He said he wanted a more “traditional” look for summer – admitting that having a tougher, more masculine haircut would give him the discipline he needs for his studies. A perfect match for Haircut Cinema!
We start off washing his hair one last time. Once it’s clean, it’s combed out – slicked tight back and to the side – played with lovingly. The first cut comes from a pair of scissors – cutting straight across. Next, larger sections are cut – as the blue, blonde and brown hair mix and gather up on the cape. Saying goodbye to that cute mop-top! Next comes the clippers, which buzz down the sides, and the rest of the color.
The clippers do a fantastic job of transformation. You can see right away a tougher, more masculine look. Micah goes from “cute” to “hot” in just a few careful strokes of the clippers. He defiantly warrants a second glance after his haircut! Freshman year just got interesting! The movie ends with a total transformation – looking like a brand new man.
